MIRANDA ARMSTADT is a former CBS affiliate news anchor with an entertainment background. She grew up on the TV sets of her pioneering media grandfather’s programs and has family connections to a major Broadway composer and a prodigious sitcom television series producer.
But that’s only the beginning for Armstadt’s unique background. Born in Europe while her father served in various Embassy posts, the family later moved back to the States, where Armstadt was raised primarily in New York City’s borough of Manhattan. She has since lived in many parts of the United States, as well as travelled across the pond to Europe numerous times, for both business and pleasure.
After running a niche business industry’s media outlet for almost nine years as news editor, she is now writing fiction full-time in multiple genres.
Her first novel—‘Cut Back to Life’—was inspired by her own dramatic experience with a life-changing surgery, as well as her personal background in the entertainment industry as an actress, TV news anchor, and singer.
She is now in her fourth year of research and writing on her second novel—a historical fiction spy thriller inspired by her parents’ time with the US State Department during the turbulent Cold War years of the 1950s. In the course of her research—using numerous family documents and letters, as well as State Department dossiers and FOIA archives–Armstadt uncovered evidence that her parents were likely involved in more than “diplomacy”.
When not writing, Armstadt is an avid linguist, dog rescuer, and firearms enthusiast.
